Unboxing and Assembly

The Lil’ Luxuries® Whirlpool, Bubbling Spa & Shower arrived, promising a luxurious bath experience for my little one. Unboxing revealed all the components: the tub itself, bubble track, air track, water chamber, and showerhead. The instructions were somewhat confusing, particularly regarding the chair assembly.

Installing the bubble track
Installing the bubble track

Attaching the bubble track was straightforward—a simple push-and-click mechanism. The air track also connected easily, but the instructions neglected to specify the battery type needed, a frustrating oversight.

Confusing chair assembly instructions

Assembling the chair proved trickier. The instructions failed to clarify that the clip only attaches to the top of the chair frame, leading to unnecessary confusion and wasted time searching for a non-existent bottom clip.

Filling and Initial Testing

Filling the tub proved unexpectedly challenging. The water chamber and the tub needed filling separately; an inconvenient design flaw that wasn't immediately apparent. Getting the tub under the faucet was difficult, so I used a cup.

After filling both sections, I turned on the showerhead—nothing happened. Despite correctly installed batteries and audible noise, the showerhead initially failed to function as expected. The water flow was minimal.

Troubleshooting the showerhead tube

After some troubleshooting, I discovered the showerhead tube was too long for its compartment, causing blockages. Adjusting the tube's position resolved the flow issue, demonstrating a critical design flaw.

Bubble and Whirlpool Function

Activating the bubble function produced a somewhat disappointing result. While bubbles did appear, they were inconsistent, emerging mostly from a few holes on one side of the bubble track. This may have been due to overfilling the tub, exceeding the incredibly low fill line.

The fill line is surprisingly low, essentially only half an inch of water. This would leave the baby’s bottom exposed. I chose to overfill for a more comfortable bath, potentially affecting bubble function.

The whirlpool function, while eventually working, had a slow start. The manufacturer unfortunately doesn’t allow simultaneous use of bubbles and the whirlpool.

Final Verdict

The Lil’ Luxuries® Whirlpool, Bubbling Spa & Shower offers a novel concept but falls short in execution. The confusing instructions, design flaws (especially the showerhead and incredibly low fill line), and inconsistent bubble function make it a frustrating experience.

The low fill line is unacceptable and renders the product almost unusable. Even minor issues such as the slow whirlpool start add to the overall underwhelming performance.

While the idea of a luxurious baby bath is appealing, the poor design and execution of the Lil’ Luxuries® product outweigh its potential benefits. I cannot recommend this product unless these significant issues are addressed.
